About Us
Montessori of Ladera Ranch was established in November 2002 to follow the teachings and principles of Maria Montessori through well prepared environments that meet the needs and challenges of all children.
We strive for academic excellence through practical exercises in the areas of Language, Math, Geography, Science, Sensorial Activities and Practical Life. We commit to instilling in the child a natural and ongoing curiosity toward the world around them and create a true love of learning that will stay with the child throughout life. We strive to promote social graces and caring for each other and the world around them. To meet the needs of each child’s individual spirit, we allow them the freedom to explore, make mistakes, question and grow at a pace comfortable to the child. Our mission is to create a physical environment that allows a child to feel a sense of belonging, to feel safe and secure, to develop and strengthen their self-esteem. Finally, to hold firm to the words of Maria Montessori herself, “The education of the very young child does not prepare him for school, but for life.”
Montessori of Ladera Ranch is a state-of-the art premier Montessori school located in the heart of Ladera Ranch, CA. We serve children ages 2-9 years of age. Currently, we house one toddler classroom for children ages 2-3, four preschool classrooms for children ages 3-5, one elementary classroom for children ages 4.9-5, and one elementary classroom for children ages 6-9. Our toddler and preschool programs offer 3 or 5 days a week, full day from 9:00am-3:00pm or half day from 9:00am-12:00pm. Our elementary programs are a 5 day a week program only. All of our programs offer extended daycare hours from 7:00am-9:00am and 3:00pm-6:00pm.
Our mixed-age classrooms allow for children to develop academically, socially, and emotionally at their own pace. The age groupings allow for younger children to learn from older children, and for older children to develop confidence and responsibility by helping and supporting the younger ones. In addition to the Montessori core education, our curriculum also includes exposure to cultural subjects, technology, art, foreign language, and physical education. All subjects are taught according to the levels of each age grouping.
